TrainerPlan Virtual, now in beta, is a 3D world in the browser where you ride and run the sessions on your TrainerPlan calendar: trainer, power meter or footpod connected, the target of every step on screen, and the workout marked done for you and your coach when you finish. It is free with your TrainerPlan account.
Open TrainerPlan VirtualFree with your TrainerPlan account · Beta
Open Virtual and the sessions your coach scheduled for the coming days are there, cycling or running: warm-up, repetitions with work and recovery, cool-down, each step with the power, heart rate or pace target they set. Training on your own? Plan the session on your calendar and it shows up the same way.
Power, heart rate, cadence, speed and gradient stay on screen for the whole session, next to the step you are in and its target. The zones are your zones, the ones in your TrainerPlan profile, so a Z4 block means your Z4.
When you finish, save the session and your calendar shows it done: duration, distance, climbing, average power, heart rate and the session's Effort score, on the same card as the plan, and it counts towards your fitness and fatigue. Your coach sees it too. Nothing to export and no file to upload.
The moment you finish you see how it went: time, distance, average power, heart rate, cadence and climbing, and the whole session on a power, heart rate and pace chart where every interval stands out. From there you save it to TrainerPlan.
Standard Bluetooth sensors pair in a click: your smart trainer or power meter, heart rate strap and cadence sensor for the bike; a Stryd, a Garmin watch in Virtual Run mode or a treadmill for running. No dongles and nothing to install.
Six routes to choose from, all on roads and streets that exist. Sierra de Madrid follows a real GPX track with its true elevation; ValsaÃn climbs from La Granja to the Puerto de Navacerrada, 15.7 km and 723 m of climbing. On Wahoo and FTMS smart trainers the resistance follows the road, so you feel the climb in your legs, not just see it. And in power intervals, ERG mode holds the watts for you.
Virtual has a cyclist and a runner. Whoever is on the same route shows up on the road beside you, on a bike or on foot, so your group can do the session at the same time with everyone at home.
Open Virtual from your profile menu in the TrainerPlan web app: nothing to install and nothing extra to pay. Sensors pair in Chrome or Edge on a computer; any other browser can explore a simulated ride. It is a beta: no racing yet, and a session only reaches your calendar when you choose to save it.
Every athlete you invite gets Virtual with their account. The sessions you schedule, group plans included, appear inside it with your targets, and what they save comes back to your calendar as a completed workout, with its Effort score, next to the rest of their week.
Every route in Virtual starts life as a real GPX track: Sierra de Madrid is a rider's Sunday loop, metre for metre. Next, it will be yours. Import the course of your next race or your favourite loop and Virtual will build it in 3D with its real elevation, so you can recon every climb and every corner, on the bike or on foot.
Running sessions work the same way: your coach's run loads with its pace and heart rate targets, your treadmill's speed moves the runner over Bluetooth, and the run lands on your calendar when you finish.
Works with Bluetooth FTMS treadmills, a Stryd footpod or a Garmin watch in Virtual Run mode.
Built around the plan, not around the game.
The sessions on your calendar, with every step, repeat and target in your own zones.
On power intervals your trainer holds the target watts for you, step after step.
Your trainer's resistance follows the road, from −15% to +20%.
Madrid, Richmond, ValsaÃn up to Navacerrada, the Angliru and the lake at Banyoles, with their real elevation.
A cyclist and a runner. Runners use a footpod, a Garmin watch or a treadmill.
Whoever is on your route appears on the road beside you, on a bike or on foot.
Sit on a wheel and save energy. The screen tells you when you are in the wind.
Named practice riders keep you company when the road is quiet.
Pick your colours and add your club's logo. Everyone on the road sees it.
3-second power, lap averages, the next step and your coach's notes.
On loop routes every lap is split for you, lap after lap.
Saved to your calendar with its Effort score, so it feeds your fitness and fatigue.
A flat lap for the easy days, city streets, rolling hills and two real mountain climbs. Every route works for riding and for running, with or without a planned session.
The flat lap of the lake at Banyoles, past Porqueres and La Draga, ridden lap after lap.
A real GPX track with its true elevation: rolling road through open country.
Gran VÃa, Palacio Real, Sol, Prado, Retiro and the Castellana to the Cuatro Torres, on real streets.
Real Richmond streets: a cobbled stretch, two river crossings and an uphill finish.
From La Granja to the pass through the ValsaÃn pine forest and the Siete Revueltas hairpins.
The steepest climb: from La Vega through Viapará and Cueña les Cabres to the top.
Standard Bluetooth sensors, paired straight from the browser.
Wahoo KICKR, KICKR CORE and KICKR SNAP, and any Bluetooth FTMS smart trainer, with road gradient and ERG mode.

A Stryd footpod, a Garmin watch in Virtual Run mode, or a treadmill with Bluetooth FTMS.
Everything pairs over Bluetooth in a click. ANT+ sensors are not supported.
