TrainerPlan seamlessly integrates with Apple Health and Apple Watch to automatically sync your workouts and push your training plans directly to your watch.

1. Sync Workouts from Apple Health
Automatically import completed workouts from your Apple Watch or iPhone to TrainerPlan.
2. Push Workouts to Apple Watch
Send your scheduled TrainerPlan workouts directly to your Apple Watch Workout app.
Quick Setup (2 Steps)
Step 1: Enable Apple Watch Connection
- Open the TrainerPlan app
- Go to Settings > Connections
- Enable the Apple Watch toggle
- iOS will prompt you to grant permissions to Apple Health and Workout app
- Tap Allow to grant all permissions
That’s it! You’re now connected.
Step 2: Enable Auto Sync (Optional)
- Tap Manage Connection to access detailed settings
- The Auto sync workouts toggle is enabled by default
- Leave it on to automatically sync completed workouts to TrainerPlan
Understanding the Connection Status
On the Apple Watch & Health page, you’ll see:
Connect with Apple Health
- Shows a blue checkmark (✓) when successfully connected
- Tap to view instructions if you need to manually adjust permissions later
- Path: Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > TrainerPlan
Connect to Apple Workout App
- Shows a blue checkmark (✓) when successfully connected
- Tap to view instructions if you need to manually adjust permissions later
- Path: Watch app > Workouts > Connected Apps
Auto sync workouts
- Toggle ON (default) to automatically import completed workouts
- Toggle OFF if you prefer to manually select which workouts to sync
How It Works
Syncing Workouts FROM Apple Health
When connected:
- Any workout you complete on your Apple Watch or record in the Health app
- Automatically syncs to TrainerPlan (if Auto sync is enabled)
- Includes: duration, distance, calories, heart rate, and route data
- Workouts appear in your TrainerPlan calendar as completed sessions
Pushing Workouts TO Apple Watch
When connected:
- Your scheduled TrainerPlan workouts are automatically sent to your Apple Watch
- View them in the Workout app on your watch
- Start workouts directly from your watch with the planned structure
- Includes intervals, rest periods, and target zones
Troubleshooting
Checkmarks not appearing?
- Pull down to refresh the Apple Watch & Health page
- Make sure you granted permissions when enabling the connection toggle
- If permissions were denied, you’ll need to enable them manually:
- Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > TrainerPlan
- Watch app > Workouts > Connected Apps
Workouts not syncing?
- Verify Auto sync workouts is enabled
- Check that both checkmarks are showing (connected to both Health and Workout app)
- Make sure you have an internet connection
- Pull down to refresh the page
Wrong workout time?
- Workouts sync with your device’s local timezone
- The time shown reflects when you actually completed the workout
- If traveling, the workout time will match the timezone where you performed it
Need to re-grant permissions?
If you previously denied permissions:
- Disable the connection toggle in Settings > Connections
- Re-enable it and grant permissions when prompted
- Or manually enable in:
- Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > TrainerPlan
- Watch app > Workouts > Connected Apps
How to disconnect?
- Turn off the toggle in Settings > Connections
- This stops all data sync immediately
- Optionally revoke permissions in iPhone Settings if desired
Privacy & Data
- TrainerPlan only reads workout data you’ve completed
- No health data is shared with third parties
- All data transmission is encrypted
- You can disconnect at any time
- Disconnecting stops all data sync immediately
